Earlier this year I was delighted to receive my first Arts Council England funding to sponsor a project with Croome Court, a National Trust property in the heart of Worcestershire. The project culminated in my first solo exhibition now on display in the Saloon until May 2019.
Garniture is a response to the porcelain collection on display inside the Golden Box at Croome Court. Inspired by colourful and rare pieces collected by the Coventry family in the 18th and 19th centuries, the project focuses on the use of colour in a single piece, chosen by staff and volunteers.
The exhibition features 29 porcelain vases each individually coloured and decorated in response to an 18th Century Royal Worcester ice cream pail owned by the 7th Earl of Coventry.
Hand built porcelain vases, matte glazed interior, enamel colour, gold decals.
